One of the objectives of the Akademi is to encourage and assist meritorious organisations working in the field of Manipuri culture. Towards this end, the Akademi extends various services. Apart from implementing its own programmes and projects, the Akademi has been extending financial assistance as a collaborator in organising important drama festivals and other programmes in association with reputed cultural and literary organisations. Two such programmes for which the Akademi has been regularly extending financial assistance are ‘Short Play Competition for Creative Directors’ which is annually organised in collaboration with Theatre Centre, Manipur and ‘Kha Manipur Drama Festival’, annually organised in collaboration with Langmeidong Dramatic Union, a rural based theatre organisation of Manipur. In recent times, the Akademi has also collaborated with Writers’ Forum, Imphal in organising a literary programme – ‘State Level Recitation and Quiz Competitions’.
