This award is given to the most exceptional book in Manipuri which is considered to be of outstanding literary merit. It is given annually in three broad areas of literature:

(i) Creative Writing in Manipuri (Poetry, Novel, Short Story, Play, Travelogue, Biography etc.).

(ii)  Critical Writing in Manipuri (literary & cultural studies).

(iii) Translation (from languages recognised by Sahitya Akademi, other national and international languages to Manipuri and vice versa).

The award carries a cash value of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) only, a Memento and Certificate of Honour and is conferred to writers/translator for their outstanding literary works. Find the list of recipients of MSKA Awards (Literature).
