This award, numbering one, is annually conferred for the most promising and outstanding book in Manipuri (creative or critical work) by an Indian author whose age is 35 years or below as on 1st January of the year of Award. The Award carries a cash value of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twentyfive thousand) only, a Memento and Certificate of Honour.
